                     Golden Delicious Apple is native to Clay County, West Virginia and its parentage is uncertain, but some suspect the chance seedling can be traced to Golden Reinette and Grimes golden or cross of Kidd’s Orange and Golden Delicious Apple. It's the all-purpose apple and it is probably the most widely available apple.
                   Golden Delicious Apple is yellow to yellow-green, juicy and crispy, mellow, mild, sweet/blend in taste. It is good for eating raw, frying, and making pies. Its flesh does not darken as readily as that of other apples and stay white and it holds its shape during baking but do lose some flavour when cooked.
