Red Delicious Apples, (raw with skin) Nutritional Values
Red Delicious Apple is native to Iowa, Peru
and was introduced in market in 1874. Its parentage is unknown and discovered
as a chance seedling on the farm by Jesse Hiatt and was originally known as Hawkeye.
Red Delicious Apple is Large, brilliant red, sometimes streaked with green,
elongated shape with five distinctive knobs at its base, juicy, sweet, no
distinguishable tartness, recommended for hand-eating but not for cooking. This
apple cooks down well into apple-sauce but it is not recommended for baking or
frying.
For the natural taste of this apple buy it
directly from former’s markets where you can get fresh fruits direct from forms
not from overlong storage or supermarkets' selling frozen cold storages where
it become mushy and tasteless flesh. It is probably the most widely available
apple. This heart-shaped, bright red and sometimes striped apple is perhaps
west world’s favourite snacking apple. Crunchy with a mildly sweet flavour, Red
Delicious Apples are also great in salads.
